Musings 165--Fly me to the moon...

The United States government can outdo any other country when it comes to just stupid stuff. We have all heard about $300 bathroom seats, nuts and bolts that cost hundreds of dollars and weapons systems that cost millions that will never be deployed. Well, leave it to Uncle Sam to trump even those blunders--NASA, the space people, have lost the tape of the moon landing. (See Link)

It really isn't lost, they say, just misplaced. Er...ah...at least that is what they think, maybe. You can not make stuff like this up. The recording of the single greatest human achievement in the history of our species is probably tossed in a closet in the NASA basement. (Does NASA really have a basement?..hmmm.) It boggles the mind.

It is utterly amazing that NASA does not have a historian who keeps track of their many achievements. Is it any wonder that space crafts fall from the sky?

Grey Hautaloma, NASA spokesperson, said to ABC News Online: "We haven't seen them for quite a while. We've been looking for over a year and they haven't turned up." A year! They've been looking for a year...365 days. Holy hell!

He went on to say: "I wouldn't say we're worried--we've got all the data. Everything on the tapes we have in one form or another." So...basically, we got the clones, but the originals have escaped. I think I saw that movie a few years ago.

Well, they can either do one of two things: Fly me and the rest of the world back to the moon and do it again, or go back to the movie set and recreate the landing like the wackos believed they did the first time.
